Yeah, we hear ya, we know some of you are sick of it. That’s cool, exhaustive coverage of any gadget isn’t for everybody, but instead of making a big fuss in comments why not enjoy this beautiful summer weekend? We’re not skipping over other news to cover this iPhone stuff — news is ALWAYS really slow on the weekends, and we’ve got a major product to cover the hell out of. Still, we’ll try posting more stuff to mobile to cut down on the iPhone spam. Thanks for understanding!

If you want an iPhone, you haven’t gotten one yet, and you operate in slow motion, now would probably be a good time to start worrying about availability. We’ve been hearing wide-scale reports since yesterday from AT&T stores across the country that locations have been unable to keep the device in stock, with some selling out in a matter of minutes after launch all video game console-style. For folks within driving distance of an Apple store, that hasn’t been a problem so far because Apple’s own retail locations seem to have been supplied with many, many units — and that, friends, is what’s starting to change. According to Apple’s iPhone locator, there are still plenty of locations with stock — but unlike last night, it’s not difficult at this point to find stores that have sold out as well. Think there’s any chance Apple’s gonna let the pipe run dry?

Granted, we’re not exactly grasping the full connection between aircrafts and Memorex’s TravelDrive M-Flyer Pilot, but the sleek, “aerodynamic” design and cutesy wing logo probably make this the USB flash drive of choice for the average commercial pilot. Regardless, this minuscule device touts a retractable, capless design, ReadyBoost compatibility, and comes with Portable Vault USB security software from Migo Software. Available in 2GB and 4GB sizes, the latest M-Flyer should be available in the US and Canada next month for $49.99 and $79.99, respectively.

Oppo most certainly is accustomed to cranking out digital music players with eye-catching designs, and the pendant-styled UP-9 is no exception. Showcased in Korea, this wee DAP sports a jeweled exterior, diminutive display for showing track names, time remaining, and battery life information, a built-in FM / AM radio tuner, recording functions, equalizer settings, and an obligatory lanyard for tossing around your neck, arm, or other extremity. The unit will reportedly come loaded with 1GB of internal capacity, and while there’s no sign of an American release, those in South Korea can snag one for â‚©79,000 ($85).

In the fight against unwanted jerks checking out and/or messing with your sensitive files, IOGEAR has taken matters into its own hands with a new fingerprint-reading mouse. The mouse — which contains a convenient, built in biometric reader — will scan the identity of you and four loved-ones with a confidence-stoking accuracy of more than 99%. In addition, the device is coated with the company’s “Nano Shield” which prevents totally gross garbage like bacteria, fungus and algae from surviving on the surface. So, if you’re super-paranoid about both germs and computer security, your wallet is probably going to get about $80 lighter real soon.

Although WowWee’s theoretical zoo of robotic creatures is indeed impressive, our hats are off to Leonel Moura. This visionary has created a vivid yellow structure which is home to some 45 robots — most powered by photovoltaic energy while the others are plugged into the ceiling or ground — that were all created in the name of art (and science, too). The autonomous creatures represent 14 species in what’s being dubbed the “world’s first zoo for artificial life,” and the Robotarium supposedly provides an “ideal environment” for peaceful robotic development. Of course, our imaginations can certainly run wild with the fear of these suckas forming a coup and running amok, but be sure and click through for a video of caged life on the robotic side.
