Shortly after unveiling the Zieo N500-HD, Evesham is hitting back with a slightly more updated version for those lusting after a few more frames-per-second. The 17-inch Zieo NX600-HD looks to be aimed squarely at gamers, as the available 2.4GHz T7700 Core 2 Duo and 512MB NVIDIA GeForce Go 8700M GT provide all the FPS horsepower you’ll (currently) need. Also packed within is a WUXGA panel, 2GB of DDR2 RAM, dual-layer DVD burner, a 56k modem, up to 250GB of SATA hard drive space, eight-cell Li-ion battery, 802.11a/b/g/n support, integrated multicard reader, built-in stereo speakers, gigabit Ethernet, and a smattering of ports including FireWire, USB 2.0, DVI, TV out, and an ExpressCard slot for good measure. Of course, such a well endowed machine won’t come cheap (nor lightly), as this 8.7-pound beast will run you £1,399 ($2,813) before any of the highly desirable upgrades.

As if Microsoft didn’t have enough hype riding on its forthcoming Halo 3 ultra-blockbuster, the company is giving Halo fanboys another treat in the form of a green Halo 3 Special Edition Xbox 360 and accompanying controller, 20GB hard drive, and wired headset to ship this holiday season. It’s not like Microsoft is compensating for anything, Halo 3 is undoubtedly going to be one of the biggest titles ever, but we’re not sure how long these paint jobs can keep our interest when certain Sony Computer Entertainments are slashing prices right and left.

Ok, we’re live from Microsoft’s E3 2007 keynote! The event officially kicks off at 8:30PM PDT, but we’ll be doing our usual pre-game coverage here.
8:06PM PDT - Ok, so the event is being held at — get this — a high school? It’s a damned fancy one if you ask us, full coliseum style seating. More after the break.

We’re still a little curious at the hold up, but Microsoft has finally announced that the Xbox 360 Elite is going to hit Europe on August 24th. In addition to the Elite, Microsoft also shared the good news that Xbox Live types in Europe and Canada will be able to share in the video download goodies currently being enjoyed by their US counterparts, including but not limited to that hefty high-def Disney catalog that Microsoft is adding to the service tonight.

While Microsoft’s E3 announcement of “Scene It?” for the Xbox 360 wasn’t exactly awe inspiring, there are some brand new casual gaming controllers packed with the title that certainly perked us up. Details are slim at the moment, but four of the simplistic clickers will be included with the game. This could be Microsoft’s Trojan Horse to battle against Wii’s stranglehold on the casual gaming market — particularly if the remotes include motion sensing within, which hasn’t even been hinted at yet — or could just be a nice freebie to make “Scene It?” a bit more accessible. We figure we’ll know more soon enough. There’s another pic after the break.

It’s practically a foregone conclusion that the price drops we North Americans saw on Sony’s PlayStation 3 would hit other markets eventually, but the managing director of Sony Computer Entertainment in Australia may have revealed exactly when that drop is coming. According to a blurb at SmartHouse News, Michael Ephraim has apparently stated that a “PAL market announcement will be made on July 12th regarding price cuts to the PAL market PS3.” More specifically, consoles sold in Australia “could be cut by as much as 17-percent,” which would purportedly lower that model to AUD$829, and gamers in the UK could see the PS3 lowered to a much more respectable £350 if the percentage discount carries over. Only time will tell, eh?

While the most recent LCDs to emerge from Samsung’s laboratories have been of the, um, gigantic variety, the firm’s latest duo caters to the desk dwellers rather than the AV junkies. The 20-inch SyncMaster CX2032GW/BW models and 22-inch SyncMaster CX2232GW/BWs each consist of a widescreen Magic Clear panel (no word on resolution, however), and are designed with an “elastomer material which enables users to adjust the angles in any way they feel comfortable with.” These aptly-nicknamed “Swan” displays should be available in Korea real soon, and while the 20-incher will demand ?368,000 ($399), the slightly larger sibling will run you a modest ?437,000 ($475).

It won’t go down as the timeliest of launches, but the Audiovox-built CommanderMT that we peeked back at CES is finally up for grabs. The in-dash receiver was designed to operate with any AM / FM radio and sports a four-line display, jog dial, and the ability to “alert you whenever your favorite songs, artists, or sports teams are being played on another channel.” Additionally, the Mini-Tuner compatibility ensures that you can take your XM subscription with you when you exit the vehicle, and while it may have lost some of its luster during the six months you’ve been anxiously waiting, interested consumers can snag one of their own “later this month” for $179.99. Continue on for a few in-car snapshots.
