Up until now, the words “Zink” and “Polaroid” were all but married together, but a breakup fit for The Hills is about to go down courtesy of the all-too-promiscuous Dell. Over in the deep waters of the FCC, we’re seeing a new Dell printer that utilizes the ink-free Zink technology. The PZ310 WASABI is yet another handheld printer that comes bundled with a single stack of printing paper, Bluetooth technology for printing from your mobile / BT-enabled PC, a USB port for traditionalists and a Reprint button for obvious reasons. As with everything in the FCC, the agency is never kind enough to hand over any preliminary pricing / release information, but it ought not be long now before Dell starts shipping these things without even telling anyone.

The news is flying fast and furious out of the Leipzig Games Convention today (we actually just got hit in the eye with a flying piece of news). Apparently Sony is launching a wireless keypad attachment that snaps onto the top of a SIXAXIS or DUALSHOCK3 controller into the mini-USB port. The pad features a “touchpad mode” for mouse input, and can be paired with phones and other gadgets via Bluetooth. No word on pricing, but the pad launches in November, and the add-on will come in eight different languages, which should really help us with our multi-lingual training.

Hmm, Hov, you may want to check the fine print on whatever deal you’ve got with Moto, because these Jay-Z-branded MOTOROKR S7-HD Bluetooth headset aren’t exactly big pimpin’ — and compared to Dre’s big ol’ cans, they look downright sad. Of course, the FCC’s legendarily nasty product photography isnt helping here, but even A2DP stereo support and the integrated mic can’t salvage this mess — was this really worth unretiring for?

Samsung already loosed a 3-channel Bluetooth speaker earlier this year, but apparently, one just isn’t enough. The company has now introduced its YA-SBR510 over in South Korea, which streams audio from BT-enabled players and includes a 3.5-millimeter auxiliary jack for hooking up just about everything else. A tad pricey at €150 ($222), but it’s a total bargain should it come bundled with that oh-so-furry rug. Sammy, care to comment?

Remember that PlayStation-branded SOCOM Bluetooth headset we told you about a while ago? Not surprisingly, it’s for real, and we spotted it in Sony’s booth alongside SOCOM Confrontation here at E3. It looks to be a relatively nice unit, a bit bigger than your standard Bluetooth headset intended for phones, and the USB charger it comes with is clearly intended to hang out with your PS3. Sony points out that the headset sports a giant mute button for your in-game arguments with significant others, and battery time is promised to be “exceptional.” They wouldn’t tell us exactly how exceptional, but we’ll believe them for now. Finally, they did confirm that you’ll be able to pair this with your cellphone in case you want to show off your SOCOM love while away from your living room.

We feel for all of you in California who are dealing with the new hands-free legislation that came down upon you today like an edict from your overlords. If you’re one of the unlucky few who get nailed by the 5-0 for talking on your cellphone while driving, though, there’s some silver in those dark clouds. Headsets.com is giving away the Plantronics Discovery 925 bluetooth earpiece — worth $150 clams — in exchange for proof that you were pulled over. Now, don’t go talking on your cellphone in the hope of getting one of these, though — that $20 fine could get you a decent headset today anyway.

Back in the day, integrated GPS units were the stuff of luxury cars, gargantuan SUV cruisers, and lost old ladies. Suzuki is looking to change all of that by including the Garmin T.R.I.P. on all 2009 SX4 Sport and SX4 Crossover vehicles — at no extra charge. As Suzuki gleefully points out, this marks the first time a sub-$16,000 car has included a GPS unit as standard equipment. The T.R.I.P. (Travel, Real-time traffic, Information and Play) sports a flip-up 4.3-inch screen and Bluetooth connectivity. As for software, it will include real-time traffic, weather forecasts, local event listings, community-based recommendations, and a gas station finder that can filter based on fuel prices. We’re still fans of portable GPS units, but there is something elegant about those big-screened integrated monsters.

We haven’t heard much about Wibree lately, but the next-gen Bluetooth standard looks to be humming along nicely, with a name change to ULP (Ultra Low Power Bluetooth) and now a dual-mode chip from CSR that supports Bluetooth 2.1 and ULP on the same silicon. The chip consumes 10 times less power than a standard Bluetooth unit while connecting, and 50 times less power during data transfer, as it’s essentially a stripped down version of Bluetooth with way fewer frequencies to worry about. This dual-mode chips means we won’t have to leave the superior bandwidth of Bluetooth 2.1 behind. The chip should be available in the market sometime in 2008.
