It’s hard to tell exactly what we’re looking at here, but damned if this doesn’t look like some fancy new MacBook Pro carved out of a single piece of metal (except for those sides, so, there goes that theory). We’ll let you make your own decisions after giving this the once over, but if this is what Apple has in store for us, our curiosity is definitely piqued.

We’ve seen most everything about the BlackBerry Storm that Verizon wanted us to see, but this is the first real (clear) glimpse at what the UI is apt to look, taste and smell like whenever it decides to ship. Of course, we’d still caution you to take all of this with a grain of salt until Vodafone comes clean, but the screen shots captured in the read link do look fairly believable. Can you stand any more teasin’? If so, you know where to head.

You know that unlocked HTC Touch Diamond advertised at Best Buy? Well, we just received word from the inside that it does, indeed, carry US 3G. At least that’s the obvious assumption given the HTCTOUCHDIA model and IAMOND UNLKD 3G description shown in Best Buy’s all too familiar RSS feed. $700, and “coming soon” — you ready?

While legend has it that the Alexander possesses a beauty that only a mother could see, Motorola’s Atila looks pretty sharp from here. The codenamed handset is said to be Alexander’s non-QWERTY counterpart, boasting quad-band GSM / GPRS / EDGE, tri-band UMTS / HSDPA / HSUPA, a 2.8-inch QVGA (320 x 240) display, 802.11b/g WiFi, Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional and a Qualcomm 7201A chipset. Mum’s the word on a price or release date, but we’ll be sure to keep you in the loop.

Well, well. What have we here? A few new Nikon’s in the run-up to Photokina, based on looks alone. Up first is the previously rumored Coolpix P6000 (pictured front, £429; $835 $500), a high-end point-and-shoot with a patently absurd 13.5-megapixel sensor, a 4x optical zoom, 2.7-inch touchscreen monitor, built-in GPS for geotagging pics, full manual mode and the ability to capture in RAW. If that’s a bit much for you, you can check out the ultrathin Coolpix S60 (pictured back, £299; $581 $350), which packs a 3.5-inch 16:9 touchscreen that controls just about everything, a 10-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom and an HDMI output. Next up is the S710, which unfortunately gets the aforementioned 14-megapixel sensor, a 3-inch LCD and a 3.6x optical zoom. Bringing up the rear is the 10-megapixel S560 (£179; $348 $250) and the S610 / S610c (£249; $484 $280), the latter of which includes WiFi for instant uploading. Look for most, if not all, of these to show up on shelves next month.

An undeterred Sony Ericsson appears to have a handsome new slider on its way out in the near future — according to a slew of pictures leaked to the se4m forums — meant to sit beside the previously spied (and supposedly forthcoming) Remi. The device — dubbed the G705 — will feature GPS, WiFi, a 2.4-inch display, a 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, 128MB of internal memory, and will run atop the A2 software platform. There’s not a ton of info to go around right now, but if you hit the read link you can feast your eyes on a wide array of succulent photos. We’re including another shot after the break, just in case you don’t like traveling.

Nothing much “official” at the moment, but Lenovo is prepping a laptop based on a low-voltage processor similar to that of the MacBook Air, which can only mean one thing: skinny laptop celebrity deathmatch. Lenovo’s X300 will run on a SL7100 chip, which is apparently a 1.2GHz Core 2 Duo that fits into the same form factor of the 1.6GHz / 1.8GHz chip options for the MacBook Air. However, Lenovo saw it fit to squeeze a DVD-RW drive inside this 13.3-inch laptop, along with 64GB of SSD, all for a “reasonable” price of $2,744 — at least, if Best Buy’s leaked spec sheet is to be believed. The screen is also WXGA+, which we’re assuming means 1440 x 900 instead of the 1280 x 800 MacBook Air. No word on a release date, but we hope it’s soon — that kid in Starbucks with the MacBook Air is giving us dirty looks.

For those of you who simply can’t wait one more second to get your hands on one of the more hyped updates in recent memory, Vista SP1, you’re in luck. According to a report (and our BitTorrent client, chugging along in the background), the new service pack has been leaked, then promptly made available for your forbidden downloading pleasure. Apparently, the full install doesn’t provide you with an upgrade option, so make sure you backup necessary files (like those pictures of Mom, apple pie, etc.). PC World offers a highly detailed report on how many seeders and / or leechers were available at the time its article was written, but we’ll spare you. Suffice to say, it’s there for the taking.
